"Golden
Wing" is a 42ft (13m) long 22 ft (7m) wide sailing
trimaran with a carrying capacity of 28 day passengers.
Being
a sailing trimaran means passengers experience the benefit
of a genuine sailing boat, where engines are used only when
anchoring or when there's absolutely no wind, without the
disadvantages of 'leaning over' that happens on single-hulled
vessels.

With
such a big, clear deck area, there's a lot of room to spread out,
even when the boat is carrying capacity (which is not often, generally
only on private charters). The deck is designed so that passengers
can side on the cabin 'roof' spanning the main hull and wing decks.
Valuables - including kids napping - can be within hand's reach
inside whilst pasengers are still on deck.
Large
lounging deck cushions and deck awning to protect from the sun,
the ability to anchor directly over all reefs so access for snorkelling
and SCUBA diving is as easy as just jumping in, an experienced Australian
skipper and friendly, helpful ni-Vanuatu crew, all add up
to making you say cruise a magical experience.
An
inflatable dinghy is used for getting to and from shore, making
for a comfortable ride. We also use the dinghy as a safety device
when snorkelling or diving over areas that may occasionally have
a current. We also provide all snorkelling gear, including some
life vests for non-swimmers. We suggest you BYO life rings for small
children.
"Golden
Wing" is registered under Vanuatu survey, and is fully compliant
with all safety requirements.
For
divers: there is a hyperbaric chamber in Vanuatu. None of our divers
have ever needed it, but we recommend you have insurance as the
cost of the chamber is enough to purchase a small car.

The
onboard accommodation as equivalent to camping, or backpacking in
very small rooms with other people. If you don't mind that, then
this is really the most amazing cruise you're likely to do. There
are 2 x twin double on the wing decks, a double and narrow double
berth in the bow and stern. These are quite narrow doubles. This
is not a luxury liner, and there is little privacy onboard. There
is a marine toilet, and we use deck showers to wash off the salt
water, or, if we are anchoring near a fresh water source for the
evening, you can wash ashore. We normally carry 4 to 6 passengers
on overnight cruises. We also carry tents so that you may prefer
to sleep ashore (we always anchor in a secluded, quiet bay), or
if group numbers exceed 3 couples. Sleeping on deck using deck cushions
is often the preferred option. Nothing compares to a night under
the stars - which are unbelievably impressive this far from the
lights of civilization!
